Are you tired of the endless cycle of shaving, waxing, plucking, or even massaging unwanted hair? Laser hair removal might be the solution you’ve been looking for. This increasingly popular cosmetic procedure offers a long-term reduction in hair growth, providing smoother, hair-free skin.

But before you dive in, it’s crucial to understand how laser hair removal works and what factors influence its cost. In this article, we’ll explore the ins and outs of laser hair removal, from its effectiveness to the expenses involved, so you can make an informed decision about whether it’s the right choice for you.

Is laser hair removal a good idea?

Whether laser hair removal is a good idea depends on several factors, including your skin type, hair colour, budget, and desired results. Here are some points to consider:

Effectiveness: Laser hair removal is generally effective in reducing unwanted hair. However, results can vary depending on factors such as skin colour, hair colour, and hair thickness. It tends to work best on individuals with fair skin and dark hair.

Long-term Solution: Laser hair removal offers a long-term reduction in hair growth. While it may not permanently remove all hair, many people experience significant and long-lasting reduction after multiple sessions.

Cost: Laser hair removal can be costly, especially if multiple sessions are required for optimal results. However, many people find it to be a worthwhile investment compared to the ongoing cost and hassle of other hair removal methods like shaving or waxing.

Safety: When performed by a qualified professional, laser hair removal is generally safe. However, there is a risk of skin irritation, burns, or pigment changes, particularly if not done correctly or on sensitive skin.

Maintenance: While laser hair removal reduces hair growth, it typically requires multiple sessions spaced several weeks apart for best results. Additionally, occasional maintenance sessions may be needed to keep hair growth in check.

Pain: The level of discomfort experienced during laser hair removal can vary from person to person. Some describe it as feeling like a rubber band snapping against the skin, while others find it more painful. However, newer technology has made the procedure more comfortable.

Preparation and Aftercare: Before undergoing laser hair removal, you may need to avoid sun exposure and certain skincare products. Aftercare, such as avoiding sun exposure and moisturizing, is also important to minimize the risk of complications.

To put it simply, laser hair removal could be a great option if you’re looking for a long-term solution to get rid of hair that you don’t want. However, it’s not a one-time thing and you’ll need to invest in multiple sessions. Also, you should take necessary precautions to avoid any risks. It’s always better to consult with a qualified professional before making any decision regarding laser hair removal. They can guide you based on your individual circumstances and goals.

Can hair be permanently removed by laser?

Laser hair removal can provide long-lasting reduction in hair growth, but it typically does not result in permanent removal of all hair.

Here’s why:

Hair Growth Phases: Laser hair removal works best on hair that is in the active growth phase (anagen). However, not all hair follicles are in this phase at the same time. Some are dormant or in the shedding phase (telogen). This means that multiple sessions are necessary to target hair in the active growth phase and achieve significant reduction.

Hormonal Changes: Hormonal changes, such as those related to puberty, pregnancy, or certain medical conditions, can stimulate new hair growth. While laser hair removal can reduce existing hair, new hair may still grow over time, requiring maintenance sessions.

Hair Follicle Damage vs. Destruction: Laser hair removal damages the hair follicles, which can result in a significant reduction in hair growth. However, it may not completely destroy all follicles, and some hair may eventually regrow, albeit often finer and lighter in colour.

Individual Variation: The effectiveness of laser hair removal can vary depending on factors such as skin type, hair colour, and hair thickness. People with fair skin and dark, coarse hair typically respond best to treatment, while those with lighter hair or darker skin may require more sessions or may not see as significant results.

While laser hair removal can provide long-term reduction in hair growth, it’s important to understand that it’s not necessarily a permanent solution for everyone. Some individuals may need occasional maintenance sessions to keep hair growth in check.

How does laser hair removal work?

Wondering how laser hair removal works? Here’s a breakdown:

Melanin Absorption: Laser hair removal uses concentrated light beams to target hair follicles. The melanin, or pigment, in the hair follicles absorbs this light.

Heat Generation: Once absorbed, the light energy turns into heat, damaging the follicles. Because the laser targets dark pigment, it usually doesn’t harm the surrounding skin.

Follicle Disruption: The heat disrupts the follicles, either preventing hair growth or delaying it. This works best when the hair is in the active growth phase.

Hair Shedding: After treatment, targeted hairs may fall out over the next few weeks. Since not all hairs are in the same growth phase, multiple sessions are usually needed.

Laser hair removal is most effective for those with lighter skin and darker hair, as the contrast helps the laser pinpoint the follicles. Advancements in technology have made lasers adaptable to different skin and hair types.

It’s essential to have laser hair removal done by a trained professional to minimize risks and ensure the best results. Always consult with an expert before undergoing any cosmetic procedure.

How many sessions are needed for laser hair removal?

The number of sessions can vary based on factors like hair colour, skin tone, and the area being treated. Generally, people undergo around 6 to 8 sessions to get the best results.

Hair grows in cycles, and laser treatment works best during the active growth phase. So, multiple sessions are necessary to target all the hair follicles at different times. The size of the treatment area and hormonal changes can also affect the number of sessions needed.

It’s important to stick to the treatment schedule recommended by your practitioner and attend all the sessions for the best outcome.

How much does laser hair removal cost?

Prices typically range from $15 to $300 per session, depending on the area being treated.

Here’s a breakdown of average prices for different areas:

Factors influencing laser hair removal costs

Understanding the factors that affect the cost of laser hair removal can help you anticipate and budget for the treatment expenses. Here are some key factors to consider:

Treatment Area: Larger areas like legs or back typically cost more than smaller areas like upper lip or underarms.

Number of Sessions: The total sessions needed vary based on factors such as hair colour, skin tone, and treatment area. More sessions generally mean higher overall costs.

Location: Costs can vary by region and even within different cities. Urban areas or places with a higher cost of living may have higher treatment expenses.

Clinic Reputation and Expertise: Established clinics with experienced practitioners may charge higher fees due to their reputation and expertise.

Type of Laser Technology: Different laser technologies are available, and the type used can impact costs. Advanced technologies may be associated with higher expenses.

Package Deals: Some clinics offer package deals for multiple sessions, providing cost savings compared to individual sessions.

Special Promotions and Discounts: Clinics may have promotions or discounts, especially during certain times. Taking advantage of these offers can reduce costs.

Additional Fees: Consultation, test patches, or follow-up appointments may have extra charges. It’s essential to inquire about potential additional costs upfront.

Market Competition: Pricing may be influenced by the level of competition among laser hair removal providers in a particular area. Higher competition can lead to more competitive pricing.

Conclusion

If you’re sick of constantly shaving or waxing, laser hair removal might be the perfect solution for you! It’s super convenient and works great – you can say goodbye to unwanted hair for a long time. It can be a bit pricey, but many people think it’s worth it when they see how much smoother and more confident they feel.
As a Dean at a university, simply hiring any professor for any job wouldn’t work. There is no point in getting an English professor in when what you actually wanted was a professor of nuclear physics. This works much the same with many professions, including doctors and, as we focus on in this article, electricians.

If you are looking to hire a professional for electrical contract work, it is important to know the various options available. Here we will take a look at the differences between commercial and industrial electricians to help you understand these variations and find the right person for the job…

What is electrical contract work?

While it can sound a little complicated, electrical contract work is basically the work carried out by qualified electricians. Electrical contractors can be the electricians themselves, but can also refer to the company that employs them to carry out the work.

When we talk about electrical contract work in general, we mean the work that electricians are tasked to carry out. This includes jobs like:

Designing electrical systems

Installation

Maintenance

Ensuring these systems are safe and effective

Working with high voltage systems

Working with low voltage systems

Working at different locations and so on.

There are many jobs that classify as electrical contract work, and an electrician could carry out any one or all of these depending on their skill set and responsibilities. That being said, there are classifications of electrical contractors, including industrial, commercial and domestic electrical contracting. The former two of which we will go into below.

What is commercial electrical contracting?

When we talk about commercial electrical contractors, we mean the electricians and their employers that work in the commercial sector. That generally means people that work in non-residential places that are still open to the public. This can include:

Restaurants

Offices

Shops

Business spaces and much more.

A commercial electrical contractor may work for a larger company, or may be employed directly by the commercial property itself. Many businesses will have their own onsite electrician to deal with anything from light fixtures to serious issues and maintenance. The role tends to be fairly wide and encompass lots of tasks in any given property.

Some of the main jobs you may expect a commercial electrical contractor to carry out include:

Designing electrical systems

Building these systems

Working with building owners to create the best electrical systems

Ensuring everything is up to code

Maintenance of various systems

Installation of equipment

Rewiring

Repairing systems

Training, working with or leading a team

What is industrial electrical contracting?

Industrial electrical contracting also focuses on businesses rather than residential work. While there are many similarities to commercial electrical contracting, there are several differences as well. Industrial electricians usually work in places that the public don’t tend to go to, only employees and authorised personnel. These places include:

Factories

Plants

Mines

Farms

Construction sites

Industrial sites

Electrical firms

Car manufacturers and much more.

The location is not the only difference between these two types of electrical specialisation, however. Industrial electrical contractors tend to work with far more complex and specific machinery, which can also be more dangerous.

They may work in hydraulics, or with large farming equipment. They may work with robotics or manufacturing equipment. The tasks involved can include many that commercial electrical contractors do as well. They may not do everything that commercial electricians do each day, but will do many of their own tasks as well. Some of these include:

Knowledge of the specific machinery and equipment in their industrial field

Repairing all kinds of equipment

Installing electrical systems

Installing machines

Maintaining devices

Carrying out safety checks

Repairing and restoring any equipment that might have problems

Working with a range of voltages and currents

The ability to work with a high degree of accuracy on any issue that may arise

As you can see, industrial electrical contractors may require that you know all there is to know about farming equipment, or robotics, or hydraulics. Even within this field, there are still further specialisations to be found. You may need to know more about one industry than another, and how to operate in certain locations or particular situations.

To become an industrial electrical contractor can require much more training than to be a residential or commercial electrician. They need an enhanced level of expertise to work with systems on an industrial level, and with such potentially hazardous voltages and equipment.

So, what is the main difference?

Hiring an electrician isn’t the same as hiring a handyman to help you with home repairs. It is essential that you hire a company or individual that can specifically meet your electrical contracting needs. Both commercial and industrial electricians will have the basic knowledge and skills of any professional working in the field, and there are plenty of areas in which the jobs will cross over.

The main difference is that industrial electrical contractors tend to work with more specialised equipment in situations that can be more machine-focused. They must have the knowledge to troubleshoot, maintain and repair complex and intricate machinery, and work to keep their factory, mine or farm running smoothly.

Commercial electrical contractors, on the other hand, tend to have more of a focus on setting up and maintaining electrical systems in buildings. They still check the safety of systems, install, maintain, rewire and carry out much of the same work, just in a different location and often on a different scale.

Final thoughts

It may still seem that most electricians carry out similar jobs. They undertake similar training and have to understand the inherent dangers of electricity. They work to certain safety standards and ensure that any work they carry out meets these standards too.

This may be true in most areas, much like any doctor will know the basics of healthcare. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t opt for the specialist in the area you require expertise in when you need it. For the tasks and circumstances that are not quite the same, it is good to know the differences between commercial and industrial electrical contractors, and which is best suited to your needs today.

What is a push-button switch called? How many different types of push-button are there and what are they; how do they differ? In this article, we’re going to take a closer look at what push buttons are and how they function. Want to learn more? Simply read on.

What is a push button?

So, what actually is a push button? A push-button, or more simply referred to as a button, is a switch mechanism that is used to control a certain aspect of a machine and/or process. The surface of a button is usually flat or concave shaped to facilitate the human finger, thumb, or hand – so as to be easily pushed.

Not to be confused with switches, pushbuttons typically have a temporary on/off position when pressed, whereas a switch has a permanent on/off position and must be pressed again to reverse the process.

What is a push-button switch called?

What is a push-button switch called? A push-button has various different names depending on its functionality. For example, an N.O switch (normally open), is used for doorbells, the keys on a keyboard, and the numbers found on a calculator (to name a few). These are pressed in once and then automatically return back to its original position once the finger has been removed.

Then there is a ‘push to break’ push button switch which essentially does the opposite, for example: when the button is pressed, electricity can flow and the button remains depressed, but when un-pressed, the circuit is broken once more.

How many types of pushbuttons are there?

So, how many different types of push-button are there? While pushbuttons come in a variety of different shapes, sizes, colours, and materials, and on all manner of applications, there are two main types of push-button, in terms of functionality:

Momentary (aka normally open): Momentary push buttons refer to when the action only occurs once the button (or actuator) has been pressed.

Alternate action (aka push to break): Alternate action pushbuttons refer to when the contacts are maintained until pressed again.

Here are some other types of push-button (same functionality, different style):

2-position push-button: often encased in plastic with a key to unlock action.

Dual push buttons: one button for electrical connection, another to switch it off (e.g., red and green).

Miniature push: typically used to reset small digital devices, such as a wristwatch.

Square push buttons: commonly found on automated equipment and heavy machinery.

Panel mounted buttons: as the name suggests, panel-mounted pushbuttons are designed to be attached to sturdy mountings.

Locking push-button switches: featuring a mechanical locking function.

What are the different types of push-button switches?

Again, there are only really two different types of push-button switches, although they do have several different names. Momentary switches: where the action occurs once the button is pressed; and alternate action, where the contacts are maintained after being pressed until depressed once more.

How does a push-button work?

So, how does a push-button actually work? What goes on underneath? Most push-button switches function in the exact same way; pressure is placed on the button which depresses an internal spring which makes contact with the inner ‘stable contacts’ at the bottom of the switch thus connecting an open circuit, or closing an electrical circuit.

Momentary switches press in and out again in one motion. So, for example: when you press the power button on your computer, you press the button once, it is depressed momentarily, and then the button returns to its original state. However, the action notified the computer to begin its boot-up sequence giving it power.

An alternate action, on the other hand, is pressed in, and the button remains depressed until interacted with once more. So, for example, an alarm clock, fail-safe circuit, or refrigerator light typically uses a push to break button.

What are pushbuttons used for?

What are push buttons generally used for? A push button switch is used for many different applications. Here are some examples:

Calculators

Card machines

Vending machines

The buttons on an ATM

Espresso machine

Blender

Doorbells

Computer power switches

Washing machine

Dishwasher

The keys on a keyboard

Toilet flush

Joystick switches

Selector switches

Microwave ovens

Emergency stop button on power tools and heavy machinery

And various other domestic, industrial, and commercial equipment.

What are push buttons made of?

What are push buttons made of? The materials vary, though they are typically made from either plastic or metal. A rubber casing is often used to cover the button to increase the amount of grip on the finger when pressing the button, depending on the environment. In some cases, waterproof covers may also be used (particularly in an industrial environment to protect the electronics and the user).

Conclusion

To recap:

A push-button, or more simply referred to as a button, is a switch mechanism that is used to control a certain aspect of a machine and/or process.

There are two types of push-button: Momentary and Alternate Action.

Most push-button switches function in the exact same way; pressure is placed on the button which depresses an internal spring which makes contact with the inner ‘stable contacts’ at the bottom of the switch thus connecting an open circuit, or closing an electrical circuit.

Push buttons are used in a wide variety of applications, from the buttons on a calculator to the flush on a toilet.

That covers the essentials. We hope this guide has answered your questions regarding push switches. If you are looking for specific components, you can find a wide variety of push buttons and switches at any reputable electrical supplier.

For many people working in an office, the size, layout, décor, and furnishings are critical to their overall performance. But that’s not all. The cleanliness and upkeep of the office space are equally as important.

Not only do people not want to work in a dirty environment, but if they can see that management does not value or care for the space, neither will they. As such, keeping your office space clean and clutter-free is one of the most fundamental aspects of running a business – and something that is often overlooked.

The same applies to anyone who may visit your office. If a potential client walks into an office space which hasn’t been cleaned in weeks, just what kind of impression is that going to make? For one thing, they will have very little faith in your attention to detail.

So, now that we know how important office cleaning is, what is involved? How long does it take to clean an office and how often should it be cleaned? In this article, we’ll cover everything you need to know.

What is included in office cleaning?

What is included in office cleaning? The services of an office cleaning professional include:

Carpet and floor maintenance

As your carpets and floors receive a lot of foot traffic throughout the day, they require an awful lot of cleaning. Here’s what you can expect from a cleaning service:

Vacuuming

Stain removal

Sweeping

Mopping

Varnishing and buffing

Every now and again a deep-cleaning service will be required. Depending on the condition of the flooring and how dirty it gets, this may be done once every few months, to once a year.

Surface care

Keep all of the surfaces in your office clean and tidy with professional surface care. This will include:

Desks

Tables

Chairs

Lights switches

Banisters

Shelving

Garbage disposal

There is a lot of waste that will build up over the course of each day, from paper waste to fruit peels from employees snacking in the day. As such, it is important the bins are emptied daily, and that the garbage is disposed of appropriately. The last thing you want is a nasty-smelling office filled with germs.

Kitchen cleaning

You want to ensure that the kitchen space employees use on their breaks in clean and sanitary. A professional cleaner will take care of the following:

Empty bins

Wipe down and disinfect benches

Clean out microwaves, fridges, and all other appliances

Polish up the sinks if you have them

Bathroom cleaning

Keeping your bathrooms clean and sanitary is essential. Of course, this is the kind of job that most people would prefer to avoid but fortunately, commercial office cleaners can make short work of it:

Cleaning and sanitising all basins and toilets

Polishing ceramics

Removing stains from sinks, faucets, and mirrors

Restocking toiletries (towels, loo rolls, and hand soaps)

Window cleaning

Dust and dirt can build up on your windows on the inside, limiting how much light can get through and ultimately becoming an eyesore. In order to keep them looking their best, your commercial office cleaners will wash and polish the windows on the inside removing all smudges, fingerprints, and dust.

Sanitisation and disinfection

Particularly in a post-COVID-19 world, keeping your office sanitary and disinfected is paramount. If you wish to keep your employees safe and healthy, you should hire a commercial cleaning team to keep on top of this.

Professional cleaners will wipe down every surface (particularly in high-traffic areas), using effective disinfectants.

Door handles, telephones, and light switches are some of the most effective breeding grounds for germs, and keeping them clean is essential.

How long does it take to clean an office?

So, how long does it take to clean an office? Naturally, the time will vary depending on the size of your building and the level of cleaning you are paying for. However, for 1 person doing all of the above, it should take approximately 1 hour to clean 3000-4000 square feet.

How often should you clean your office?

The industry standard for general office cleaning ranges between 3 and 5 days a week. Depending on how big your office is and how many employees you have, you may need to maintain a 5-day-a-week cleaning schedule.

If you don’t want to commit to 5 days a week immediately, perhaps start off with a 3-day cleaning schedule and see what condition the office is in. If you find that your office is too dirty on the days in between, 5-days is more realistic.

Why is office cleaning so important?

The environment that you create for your employees has a massive impact on their overall productivity.

By reducing the mess, dirt, and clutter that litters the office, you will be creating a clean environment with fewer distractions. As such, your staff will have a much easier time focusing on their job, rather than feeling uncomfortable as a result of the unnecessary mess.

Again, your office will also be the first thing that any potential clients see. You do not want a client’s first impression of your brand to be a messy and cluttered office. As such, it is always worth putting in the time and effort to keep your office spick and span.

Conclusion

In summary, a professional commercial office cleaning service will ensure every aspect of your workspace is maintained, covering:

Carpet and floors

Surfaces

Garbage

Kitchens

Bathrooms

Windows

Disinfection

It shouldn’t take much more than 1-hour for 1-person to clean an office of 3000-4000 square feet. This should be done a minimum of 3-days a week, with 5-days being more realistic.

Life is stressful enough as it is without having to worry about breaking the bank when you’re in need of a massage. This is why we’re going to share some of the average cost of a full-body, foot, leg, head, and back massage in Australia, for your convenience.

The art of massage is a practice that originated in the East-Asian regions of the world. Rooted in medical knowledge which has been passed down for centuries (and in some cases, thousands of years), the physical and mental health benefits of regular massage are significant.

In western cultures, this is something that has largely been lost on us. Certainly, professional athletes have regular massages, but what about the full-time mothers who are forever bending over backwards picking up after their unruly children? Or the new business owner working every hour that God sends with barely a break?

For too long have we been suffering from muscle and structural pain due to lack of massage therapy. With regular massage in your life, you can keep those aches and pains away for longer, as you age.

Massage prices in Australia

So, what are the massage prices in Australia? How much can you expect to pay for treatment? Well, the average cost for a massage in Australia is estimated between $55 and $100 per session.

Sessions are typically between thirty minutes to an hour, depending on the therapy itself.

And of course, the cost of the massage will largely depend on the style of massage. For example, a deep-tissue, full-body massage over an hour will typically be longer than a thirty-minute foot massage. It all depends on where you are in Australia and the spa that you visit.

What are the average Spa full body massage costs?

What are the average spa full body massage costs? For something quite intense, like a deep-tissue massage, for example, you may be looking closer towards to $105 mark. However, a relaxation massage designed to calm you down and soothe tension could be somewhere between $55 and $105.

Again, this all depends on a wide variety of factors. For example, an authentic Thai full body massage compared to a less-intensive oil massage is likely to cost slightly more.

Foot massage prices in Australia

What are the foot massage prices in Australia? Well, going off the average cost for a massage in Australia (being between $55 to $100 per session), you can expect a foot massage to be on the lower end.

In fact, for a thirty-minute foot massage in Australia, the average cost is between $35 and $45. For an hour-long session, double that approximately. And, if you are having a herbal footbath you can expect to pay an additional $15-$30.

What are the average Leg massage prices?

What are the average leg massage prices in Australia? Again, it depends on a number of factors but you can expect a thirty-minute session to cost around $30 to $65, with an extended ninety-minute leg massage setting you back anywhere from $90 to $175.

How much does a head massage cost in Australia?

How much does a head massage cost in Australia? As a stand-alone treatment that is available in many reputable spa and massage parlours, including aromatherapy, you can expect to pay anywhere from $25.

Some spas may charge more for any number of reasons, including geographical location (we’ll cover some state-targeted averages shortly).

How much does a back massage cost?

How much does a back massage cost in Australia? Again, it depends on the length and complexity of the session.

For example, a deep tissue back massage can average anywhere from $60 to $110. That might sound like a lot, given how deep tissue massages are notoriously painful, however, the incredible relief that comes with it, particularly for those who are recovering from an injury or years of working at a desk with poor posture.

Let’s just say that when you float out of your massage parlour, feeling the long term gain of your overall health and well-being; well, $60 to $110 will feel like a bargain!

Average massage prices in Australia

What are the average massage prices in Australia? Let’s take a look at some regional-based averages for your convenience.

Average massage prices across Australia:

Australia Capital Territory: $120

New South Wales: $70 to $300

Queensland: $40 to $100

Southern Australia: $85

Victoria: $40 to $300

Western Australia: $65 – $95

Remember, these are just averages and not to be taken as gospel. If you do plenty of shopping around, you are bound to find a high-quality and reputable massage service in your local area.

Conclusion

All in all, considering the amazing health benefits (both mental and physical) of having a massage every now and again, the average cost of a massage in Australia is arguably worth it.

If you want to save a bit of money, you can always consider switching to thirty-minute sessions. This can typically cut your cost in half, whilst still feeling the benefits of looser muscles and pain relief.

Then again, it all depends on the outcome that you are after. For more regular treatment, thirty-minute sessions on a regular basis work well. However, if you are going to have a massage once in a blue moon, then make sure you go all out and aim for a longer session.

In any case, we hope you have found this article helpful. Contact your local massage therapy parlour and get yourself booked in for a treat! Both you and your body deserve it.

As wonderful, convenient, and practical as having a car is, they can be a big source of anxiety, particularly if you drive an older car. Once a car gets to a certain age, naturally, parts will need replacing, and there’s no telling when it is going to fail on you.

Certainly, keeping your car well-maintained and roadworthy is an essentiality, but even after a check-up and a green light, things can go wrong for any number of reasons.

For example, once a car battery reaches a certain age, it can slowly begin cutting out on you. This is an absolute nightmare, particularly if it happens when you are stuck in traffic!

Fortunately, replacing your car battery when the time comes isn’t all that much of a big deal. In fact, it’s relatively easy and affordable to do so!

How much does a car battery replacement cost?

It really depends. First of all, what brand of vehicle do you own? Is it an older model or a relatively new car? And what sort of battery would you like? Fortunately, there are many different options for you to choose from.

If you want a second-hand car battery (Automotive battery) in Australia, you can swap your old one out for as little as $40.

The regular cost of 12-volt battery for you car costs around $100 and $150.

Whereas a premium car battery in Australia will cost between $175 and $450 (upwards of $1,500).

What is the average car battery change cost?

The average car battery in Australia will be somewhere between a second hand battery and a premium battery. So, ideally, you should expect to pay around $100 and $150 for a standard car battery as mentioned above.

What is the average cost of a new car battery?

How much does a brand-new car battery cost? Again, this all depends on whether you would like to go down the standard or premium car battery route. A brand-new standard car battery will cost between the $100 and $150 mark. On the other hand, a brand-new premium car battery will cost anywhere from $175 to $1,500!

First of all, you need to do some research and find out what type of battery is recommended for your motor. Then you can decide as to whether or not spending the extra money on a premium upgrade is worth it or not.

Most car batteries will last between 4 and 5 years. A premium battery might offer a bit more usage. Just weigh it up and make your decision from there. Of course, if you do get stuck and need some advice, a reputable company will offer you straight-up and honest advice on how best to proceed.

How much does car battery charging cost?

How much does car battery charging cost? Well, when it comes to charging an electric car battery, the majority of DC fast charging outlets are priced per kilowatt-hour (kWh) consumed, and typically cost around the 40 cents/kWh via reputable providers such as Chargefox.

How much does car battery replacement labour cost?

How much does car battery replacement labour cost? This is a tricky one, as some garages include labour in the cost of the battery itself, whereas others charge a labour cost and battery separately. And of course, it depends on the location of the battery in the car and how long the installation process typically takes. In any case, most mechanics can charge anywhere between $10 and $100 for labour to install a car battery.

What is the average key fob battery replacement cost?

This depends on whether you want to DIY it or have a professional replace it on your behalf. Doing it yourself can cost as little as $3. However, if you make a mistake and break the key-fob you will be looking at up to $500 to replace it (yes, key-fobs are incredibly expensive). Fortunately, some mechanics and car dealerships charge as little as $10 for changing a key fob battery, so it is always worth having a professional take care of it on your behalf.

Conclusion

To conclude, the cost to replace your car battery isn’t all that extortionate. Again, it depends on the model of your car, the type of batter you need replacing, and how long the installation process costs.

For second hand car batteries: approx. $40

For standard car batteries: approx. $125

For premium car batteries: approx. $300

The average labour cost to replace a battery: approx. $60

And of course, this all depends on who you choose to buy your car batteries from. So, take your time and do plenty of research before rushing in. Typically, finding a specialist car battery dealer will be the best bet, particularly if car batteries is the sole focus of their specialisation. That way, you will have access to industry expert advice from people who only deal in car batteries day-in-day-out.

In any case, we wish you the best of luck. And most important of all, stay safe on those roads!

Ah isn’t living in Australia great? All of the wonderful little pests that we have to deal with on a day to day basis is frustrating. Sure, it’s not every day that you come across a Red Back, but mosquitos are 10 a cent, particularly during the summer months.

If you are finding your home to be infested with mosquitos and you don’t know what to do, then you have come to the right place. Here we will take you through some tips to keep them under control.

My House is Infested with Mosquitoes

If this statement rings true for you, then your life sounds like a bit of a nightmare at the moment. Having mosquitos flying around and biting you at night, in the comfort of your own home is an absolute nightmare. Here’s what you need to do…

Home Mosquito Control Tips:

1 – Stop them from entering

The easiest way to have a mosquito-free home is simply to stop them from entering. Easier said than done though, right?

When it is dusk and the sun begins to set, this is the time to close your windows and doors tightly.

If you have mosquito nets and fly screens, this can make life a bit easier in the summer allowing you to keep the air flowing and the mozzies out.

You can also buy door strips online. These essentially block the space between your doors and windows and walls, keeping the mozzies from entering easily.

2 – Stop them from breeding

If you have a lot of mosquitos in your home and ‘keeping them out’ doesn’t seem to be working, then you could have them breeding inside your home. Here is how to prevent them.

Pooled water from your AC or in the garden are prime breeding grounds for mozzies

Clean storerooms, kitchens, and lofts were old items are stacked

Any ditches outside your home should be filled with dirt to prevent pooling (ideal for breeding)

You should also check the drains in and around your house, covering them and cleaning them regularly

Remember that mosquitos like stagnant bodies of water for breeding. Even a little dripping from a leaky pipe under the sink can accommodate this breeding pattern. Be vigilant.

3 – Mozzie repellent plants

Keeping plants in your home that are particularly unpleasant to mosquitos is another good choice. This is surprisingly effective as fortunately, mosquitoes are very fussy.

Marigolds

Tulsi

Lemongrass

Citronella

Mint

Catnip

Keeping these plants in your bedroom, on your desk, or in the kitchen is a great way of keeping the mosquitos in your home to an absolute minimum

Some of these plants will not only keep the mosquito population down, but they can repel other pests as well such as mice

These plants are all small enough to keep in doors, and they’re not an eyesore either

4 – Sliced lemon and cloves work wonders

Mosquitos hate the small of citrus! And the good thing, is that to us, these smells are actually rather pleasant. S

Slice up some lemons and push cloves into them

Leave them scattered around the home as an ideal mosquito repellent

This is harmless and relatively odorous for us

5 – Homemade garlic spray

There are many mosquito repellent sprays that you can use, but if you’d sooner avoid chemicals, then a natural remedy or homemade mosquito solution is your next best option.

Crush a few cloves of garlic

Boil them in water for a little while

Dispense the solution into a spray bottle

Spray it around the house to help control the mosquito infestation

Garlic is rather pungent, but it can kill mozzies instantly, making it highly effective. In addition to that, the smell doesn’t linger too long, which means this can be done frequently without your home having to smell of garlic all day, every day. In any case, this amazing mosquito solution is cheap and easy to make.

6 – Eat a mosquito’s least favourite diet

Again, mosquitos are terribly fussy, which gives us an advantage if we don’t mind changing up our diet a little bit. Here is a list of foods that mosquitos loathe. Eating the right food can prevent mosquitos from biting you.

Garlic

Onions

Apple Cider Vinegar

Lemon Grass

Chilli Peppers

Beans

Lentils

Tomatoes

Right there, you have all the makings of some delicious Thai or Vietnamese food. This could be a great opportunity for you to explore some different cooking ideas. Two birds, one stone.

7 – Keep a dish of soapy water

Mosquitos are always attracted to water, which is why this tip is especially handy. Fill up a large bowl or container with plenty of water, and make sure that it is nice and soapy with big bubbles. The mosquitos in your home will be invariably attracted to the water, and when they land to drink, they will get trapped and die.

Kill mosquitos indoors

It can be frustrating trying to hunt a mosquito in your home. Every now and again it will fly through your peripheral vision, and then when you try to catch it, it quickly disappears from sight.

Nothing says “my house is infested with mosquitos” then finding yourself running around and clapping thin air every few minutes.

You can get a bug-zapper device which are pretty handy for wafting around the place and catching plenty of bugs in mid-flight.

Fly tape dangling from lights is another pretty handy tips.

Conclusion

If you are feeling a little out of your depth and struggling to get on top of the mosquito situation, remember that assistance is always available. You are never alone, no matter how desperate or frustrated you might be!

We cannot stress enough; quite how important quality acoustics optimisation in childcare centres and facilities is. You’d be surprised to learn that very few childcare centres are designed with acoustics in mind at all. While health & safety is always a priority, acoustics should certainly be high up on the list though is all too often neglected.

The detriment of poor acoustics in childcare facilities cannot be understated, particularly for any children who already suffer from poor hearing, autistic spectrum disorders or attention and hyperactivity issues. Simply put, anywhere where noise is an issue: children’s development suffers.

There are a number of reasons for this. The first and most obvious of which is why even as adults, we don’t enjoy being in terribly noisy places where sound ineligibility is an issue. It can be distracting, making it hard for us to concentrate on the task at hand. Let’s say for example you’re in an open plan office with poor acoustics: all around you there are going to be conversations, laughter, keyboards typing away and all sorts of background noise. How well do you think you’re going to be able to focus on your work when having to compete with that? Now imagine that, but as a child: much harder!

Why Proper Acoustics in Childcare Facilities is Important

Appropriate voice intelligibility (being able to understand what their teacher or carer is saying to them)

Having fewer distractions from noise outside

Reducing the amount of noise pollution coming from the childcare facility (Particularly if there are offices and places of work next to a school or childcare facilities)

Less excessive noise means reduced stress for teachers and carers

Better acoustics means that children won’t have to ‘compete’ for their voices to be heard

Its much easier to maintain order when sound intelligibility isn’t an issue

Improved concentration when it comes to learning exercises

Improved language development (Poor acoustics can significantly hinder a child’s speech and behavioural development)

When you see some of the major benefits listed above, you might be surprised to learn that having high-quality acoustics in childcare facilities isn’t compulsory. That being said, if you would like to create the most effective, comfortable and enriching learning environment for the children in your care, then you should seriously consider having high-quality acoustics installed.

There are many different things that you can do to soundproof your facilities and improve the acoustics, from: Ceiling and wall panels, waves, baffles and circles. Of course, the type of acoustic optimisation that you opt for will be highly dependent on the size of the area in question and what you’re trying to achieve.

Summary

When you are entrusted with the health and safety of young people, you must do everything that you can to ensure that they are kept in the appropriate facilities. But your duty to them extends far beyond their health & safety, but their ability to learn and develop as individuals. By creating a well-optimised environment with quality acoustics, you are also improving the quality of their learning experience. Again, this extends beyond your children as well; it is also your duty to create a comfortable working environment for your employees. Remember that working with children can be stressful enough as it is without the added burden of excessive noise!

Hopefully we have successfully highlighted the benefits of having quality acoustics in childcare facilities.

Your home in all likelihood has served you well over the years and there is a reason that you decided to buy this property over the large numbers of other houses and apartments that you viewed. And these are exactly the same features that will attract (and sometimes repel) buyers into registering their interest when it comes to selling your home.

Whatever the reason, there will come a day when either you want to or because of a change in circumstances need to move into an alternative property. Perhaps you find that the house you are living in now no longer reflects your lifestyle, such as not having a large enough garden, or even that you and your partner are either planning for or expecting to have children at some stage in the near future and your current house will not be able to cope with the new space requirements.

When it comes to buying your next property, you will want to ensure that you have a wide of a margin as humanly possible to have in order to not only give you a wider selection in terms of the size and types of property that you can afford, but also to absorb any additional costs associated with both the move such as estate agent and legal fees in order to finalize the sale and keep in all within the confines of the law and to replace and income lost to the process, such as moving in and the time taken to organize the sale itself. So when you sell your house there will be a certain amount of work that you will need to complete in order to push that first offer above market value, how do you do that? This post will be helpful by tackling a few t things that you can do to help improve your prospects on the open market, so keep reading.

Get your front garden spruced up

Okay so in most people’s minds, the very first sight of a property that they have shown interest in will be what they base their future opinions on and more often than not it is practically impossible to shift this initial impression of your home. There are many different factors that will make up this first impression however, you can see your garden as being some kind of giant welcome mat for the prospective buyers, more often than not, if you have a tidy, clean, organized and well-kept garden at the front of the house then they are far more likely to form a positive impression of your house as a whole and are far more likely to take it seriously as a contender for their new home. Having tufts of patchy and discolored grass and messy un-bordered flowerbeds full of weeds will, on the other hand, make them imagine what kinds of other things are you neglecting?

So make sure that they don’t have the chance to form that negative impression and get some professional gardeners around to completely overhaul the yard if completely necessary, the kinds of things that you need to think about is how your lawn works with the borders of your garden and the fencing that you hopefully are considering installing. Front lawn fences actually help you to frame the grass on the yard making it appear as though it is perfectly manicured and overall much more organized than before. Also consider either reseeding your lawn or having some real turf installed to make you lawn itself to look as healthy and inviting as possible.

Repaint problem rooms

So there are always going to be spots in your home that you like less than others, and then there are areas of your home that to be quite frank are a disgrace to the rest of the house. More often than not, we will tolerate this due to the inconvenience and expense of having it fixed in a day to day situation, and there is no shame in that, however selling your home is a totally different ball game and you’re really need to consider having those ”turn off” points resolved before you start showing around prospective buyers. The way to do this is to get some painters in to apply a new coat and hide all of those blemishes and worn patches on the existing paintwork. Please click on the following link f you need help in sourcing a well reputed painting contractor.

If you own, or even have visited, an indoor swimming, then you will probably be well aware of how load they can be. Given that the swimming pool will be housed in a large, otherwise almost empty room, there is very little to prevent any and all sounds from bouncing freely around the space. This happens because sound waves travel in a radial pattern, emanating out from their source and then working their way around potential obstructions and through the smallest of holes. Now, if you are fortunate enough to have an indoor pool to yourself, then this will probably not pose much of an issue, but of course, this is not going to apply to most swimming pools. However, there are measures that can be taken to help indoor swimming pool acoustics become far more tolerable.

Removing the bounce

Of the swimming pool acoustic treatment options available to pool owners, one of the simplest and often most effective is to fit sound mitigating panels around the walls of the room. These panels can be very effective at managing the level of noise in a large room as they provide a surface that prevents sound waves from bouncing off of them and this will reduce the amount of ambient noise in the air. This tackles the biggest issue with open spaces, which is the sound bouncing around, by removing viable surfaces for bouncing will help significantly lower the noise you can hear. We stock a range of products that are perfect for use as swimming pool acoustic panels and are available in many different shapes and colours to allow you to integrate them into the design and decoration of the room.

Beautiful luxury outdoor swimming pool in hotel resort – Vintage Light Filter

Interception

The natural partner for wall mounted acoustic panels in most situations, especially indoor pool noise reduction, are suspended sound baffles. These products are suspended from the ceiling so that they provide a little wall like surface that is designed to intercept sound travelling the length of the room. By intercepting the sound waves in this way, the sound baffles prevent them from reaching the walls and other surfaces that they could then bounce off of and back into the room. This is a very effective method of limiting the amount of sound transmitted around a large, open room such as as swimming pool. The baffles don’t have to be very large, which means that they can easily blend in with the ceiling and not provide an unwelcome sight.

When you are considering purchasing soundproofing for indoor swimming pools, then you should definitely investigate these two types of products as your first port of call. We are experts in the supply and fitting of many different noise cancelling products, and have seen first hand, time and time again how effective these measures can be. Large indoor spaces can provide an absolute cacophony of noise if they are busy, but using a combination of these types of product to prevent sound waves from travelling as easily will make all the difference.
